Such a great Podi
I’m such an avid fan of South Indian food, especially idlis. And I love Gunpowder. But most of the gunpowder/ podis that I’ve tried are just unbearably hot and spicy. I’m such an avid fan of South Indian food, especially idlis. And I love Gunpowder. But most of the gunpowder/ podis that I’ve tried are just unbearably hot and spicy. So much so that I can’t make out the difference in flavours or other spices because of the extreme chilli level. But I was so happy with the Tamil Podi from Rapidli. It’s medium spicy but not overpowering with very well rounded flavours. I think children can also consume it quite easily. Kudos to this brand. Can’t wait to try their other flavours. PS: I use it in salads also as a dressing :)

Podi Obsessed
Mild enough for 8-year-old's school idli, bold enough for my office dosa. Tamil Podi’s lentil base actually satisfies hunger unlike store powders. One jar serves entire family. Genius product!

As a young father of a toddler, we’re continuously looking for healthy options to eat ourselves and feed our little one. With hectic work schedules I find the Rapidli Tamil Podi reasonably spiced for my son to eat with his healthy idli breakfast (unlike other brands in the market). The Podi taken with ghee is so nutritious, we are able to ensure a wholesome meal for our family.

Such a versatile seasoning that my mother used it for various dishes such as dosa, idli, and rice and also as an ingredient for making sambar. Such wonderfull flavours. Next ill try and rub it on chicken and fish and update here. Its a new thing for us being in north india but it's an amazing alternate to any other spices like sumac or garlic powder.

Brownie points: Got it delivered before due date.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much podi should I use?

Start with a small amount and adjust to taste. Use podi as a seasoning; the nutrition it contributes depends on the blend and quantity used. Refer to your pouch for product-specific nutrition.

Rapidli makes four regional dry chutney blends, also known as podi or gunpowder masala. Sprinkle on food, mix with ghee or sesame oil, or use in a marinade. Check the ingredient and allergen information on your pouch before choosing a blend.

Choose Karnataka for richer applications, Tamil for everyday versatility, Andhra for heat, or Kerala for a milder, peppery finish.

Start with a small amount on dal-chawal, eggs, toast or vegetables, then adjust to taste. For idli or dosa, mix podi with ghee or sesame oil. Visit How to Use Podi for quick ideas.

Rapidli’s podis use vegetarian ingredients. Allergen information varies by blend and ingredient specification, including asafoetida. Check the allergen statement on your pouch; do not assume every podi is suitable for a gluten or soy allergy.

Absolutely pan-India: Andhra Podi elevates dal-chawal, Tamil Podi perfects curd-sabzi, Karnataka Podi upgrades anda bhurji and Kerala podi uplifts any rice dish. One pouch serves breakfast-lunch-dinner for hybrid work schedules.

Three spice levels: Mild (office-friendly), Medium (daily use), Authentic Hot (weekend indulgence). Mild works for shared meals, hot satisfies spice lovers post-gym.
